Balance Brass Table Lamp by Victor Castanera
Located in Geneve, CH
Balance brass table lamp by Victor Castanera Balance is a playful and curiosity evoking tribute to the concepts of gravity and time. Dimensions: 40 (H) x 53.5 (L) x 13 cm Materials: Plated brass with steel base (also available in Glossy paint with marble base (Black)) The fixed impossible position of the orbs is an expression of the fragility of existents. All entities move and nothing remain still. Balance is a play with the concept of time – everything is in motion. Much of the greatness and beauty of Balance table lamp lies in the hidden. The materials are carefully selected to keep the lamp in perfect balance. The base is made from black marble, beautiful and heavy keeping the construction steady. Hand blown glass is cut with perfect precision to align with the steel boards. The metal spheres have just the right density to counterweight the opposite side of the lamps construction. The light comes from custom designed LED spreading even and environmentally sustainable light...

No Limits #1, a Pink, Peach & White Glass Sculpture by Maria Bang Espersen
By Maria Bang Espersen
Located in London, GB
‘No Limits #1' is a unique glass sculpture by the Danish artist, Maria Bang Espersen. Maria Bang Espersen works around the idea that all things are malleable, like glass, and that nothing can be permanently defined. Her experimental sculptures are therefore not only an approach but also a statement; one that states to never get caught up in the restrictive norms or to obey established hierarchies. Essentially, her works in glass, are a play with the possibilities of the material and an attempt to expand the viewer’s understanding of her chosen medium. Although static and solid in their final sate, Espersen stretches, pulls and bends her glass, resulting in works that appear soft and almost possible of languid movement. Her chosen sweets confectionery colour palette entices and draws the onlooker towards the artwork, which deliciously glisten. Espersen studied glass and ceramics at Engelsholm Højskole, in Denmark, continuing her studies at the Kosta School of Glass in Sweden, The Royal Danish Academy of Design, and Haystack Mountain...

The lamp is in a very good condition with hardly any signs of age and use. A true eyecatcher due to shape and size and a very timeless piece of Swedish design. Gunnar Asplund GA7 Pendant Lamp Mouthblown Opaque Glass, Designed in 1930´s
By Erik Gunnar Asplund
Located in Värnamo, SE
GA7 is a classical globe luminaire and consists of a mouthblown, three layered opaque glass. Originally designed to enlighten the corridors of the basement at the Woodland Cemetary. The frosted glass in collaboration with the centered light source creates a uniform, general and diffuse light, but with an opening in the glass to also create a direct lightdistribution. GA7 is manufactured as a fixed luminaire, but can also be hanged from cable. Details in either brass or coated. Erik Gunnar Asplund. Erik Gunnar Asplund (22 September 1885 – 20 October 1940) was a Swedish architect, mostly known as a key representative of Nordic Classicism of the 1920s, and during the last decade of his life as a major proponent of the modernist style which made its breakthrough in Sweden at the Stockholm International Exhibition (1930). Among Asplund's most important works is the Stockholm Public Library, constructed between 1924 and 1928, which stands as the prototypical example of the Nordic Classicism and so-called Swedish Grace movement. It was particularly influential on the proposal submitted for the competition for the design of the Viipuri Library in 1927 by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, who regarded Asplund as his mentor. Another important work is the extension of the Gothenburg Courthouse Extension building which Asplund started on 1913 and finished 1937 - it shows his transformation from neo-classical to functionalist architect, a transformation in parallel with other European modernists like Erich Mendelsohn. Asplund collaborated with architect Sigurd Lewerentz...

Zero LED Hoop Pendant by Front Design
By Front Design, ZERO Lighting
Located in Yonkers, NY
The Hoop pendant incorporates a metal cage-like frame made up of eight wires. Inside the frame, a globe-shaped glass diffuser rests at the bottom. The minimalist design and organic shape of this fixture is achieved by having the electrical wire fed inside one of the eight wires that make up the exterior frame. Anyone who has been immersed in the upper echelons of the design world has been hearing the buzz about Sweden’s avant-garde Front Design for a while now. Sofia Lagerkvist, Charlotte von der Lancken and Anna Lindgren are the members of the talented trio racking up awards as fast as they can complete new designs. Their portfolio is chock-full of accolades—Red Dot awards, Elle Decoration International Design Awards (EDIDA), Wallpaper Design Awards, “Best of the Best” awards, A&W awards, and a “Design of the Year” award from the Design Museum of London. Their designer statement says their works are based upon common discussions, explorations and experiments that they undertake as they begin the process of creation. It is the story of this process itself that they hope their objects will communicate—the materials used and the conventions within the design field, for instance. But they also reach into more mystical realms, creating objects from witnessed explosions; designing products that serve as an homage to animals, computers and machines; envisioning robotic furniture; and dreaming up objects inspired by their fascination with magic. Global Lighting...
