Antique 1890s Persian Fereghan Rug, 4' x 6'

About the Item

This Persian Fereghan rug consists of a cotton warp and weft and handspun wool pile. Its vivid yet earthy colors are derived from organic vegetable dyes, the reds, greens, blues and cream tones working together to create a unique medallion design with a finely detailed border and elaborate detailing throughout the rug's foreground and field. This rug is truly an exceptional work of art, and a standout example from the Golden Era of Persian carpets during the late 19th century. This rug measures 4' x 6'4" and is in excellent antique condition. Orley Shabahang takes pride in selecting and curating the finest vintage and antique carpets, ensuring that the preservation of this ancient art form will endure for generations to come.
