About the Item
Known for their whimsical designs, Guadalajara-based Mauricio and Sebastian Lara explored visual effects using hand knotted medium in this first-of-its-kind Trompe l'oeil design in a hand knotted medium.
This rug was woven by Odabashian's network of family-owned weavers near Varanasi, India with the finest New Zealand wool and silk. The design was created by Mexican design duo Mauricio and Sebastian Lara for the 2011 exhibition "Tapetes, Tejiendo Historias" at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico City.
