About the Item
Established in 2003, Luke Irwin London specializes in the design and manufacture of hand knotted custom made rugs. Luke Irwin clients receive a truly bespoke and personal service with endless options for the size, color, weave, texture and design of their rugs. Each Luke Irwin rug is individually handmade to order in a huge range of colors in both wool and silk or a blend of the two. Luke Irwin rugs are hand knotted using traditional methods in the foothills of the Himalayas overlooking the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal and in Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan, India.
Luke Irwin London does not use child labor, and donates a sum from every square meter ordered towards an educational fund for the children of the weavers in India and Nepal. The company also supports UK based Beanstalk, a national literacy charity that recruits, vets, trains and supports volunteers to work in primary schools with children who have fallen behind with their reading.
