Sergio Mannino Studio's collection of rugs is expanded with new designs. (See storefront to look at other items).
Hand-drawn butterflies seem to come out of the floor. The background is wool, while the butterflies are made with silk thread. The rugs are 100% natural and totally recyclable. Any new combination of colors (and sizes) is available upon request. Even the pattern can be changed to any custom request. The Studio will prepare a custom design based on your color palette. 3-6 months lead time on custom pieces.
"I don’t know why I started drawing butterflies, it could be because I saw them around on fashion items, or maybe because they stayed in me from the Alexander McQueen hats… I don’t know for sure but my butterflies have not been captured and glued on a painting or a vitrine, they live special lives in a world of their own. They are the direct expression of my inner thoughts onto paper. Their patterns are my pattern and they live forever. " SM

Sergio Mannino Studio
Sergio Mannino Studio is a multidisciplinary design firm based in Brooklyn, NY. Studio principal Sergio Mannino earned an Architecture degree from the University of Florence and worked extensively in interior architecture with Ettore Sottsass and Remo Buti. In 2002, he mounted a one-man show of his furniture designs at the Memphis Gallery in Milan. In 2008, Mannino’s “ooo! Lamp” was featured at the furniture fair in New York and nominated best pick of the ICFF by Metropolis magazine. Most recently, the Studio introduced the colorful and modular “Non-Flying Carpet” and the “Inside-Out” series at the New York show “Wanted Design” during the NYCxDesign week. The Studio’s work has been published in magazines, books and blogs around the world, including most recently, Wallpaper.com, for a series of lamps inspired by the artist John McCracken.
Any size and color is available. The Studio will prepare a new pattern based on the inputs received by the client.
