Contemporary Art Rug "Construye tu tapete" in Premium New Zealand Wool and Silk
About the Item
This is an open edition art rug, woven by Odabashian's network of family-owned weavers near Mirzapur, India with the finest New Zealand wool. The design was created by Mexican architect Juan Pablo Serrano Orozco for the 2011 exhibition "Tapetes, Tejiendo Historias" at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico City.
Established in 1921, Odabashian is a creative conduit for artists, designers, architects and creatives to learn, explore and create using traditional hand-made rug making techniques for applications across all design industries.
Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos: Juan Pablo Serrano Orozco, Mexico City 1969. He graduated in architecture and urbanism from Universidad Iberoamericana in 1987, with internship studies at The Texas University in Austin and The University of California in Los Angeles. He received an Honorable Mention from the Universidad Iberoamericana in 1991. He is the fourth generation of architects in his family. He is a faculty member at the Universidad Iberoamericana since 1993 up to date.
Before graduating he collaborated in the studios of Teodoro González de León, J. Francisco Serrano, Augusto H. Álvarez and Ricardo Legorreta.
He founded Serrano Monjaraz Arquitectos in 1992. The firm develops architectonic spaces where quality is achieved by the adequate use of materials and the use of light as a creative element.
