Vintage Southwestern Serape Kilim in alternating band pattern in ivory, tan, orange, and black colors. The kilim is in the band pattern with a small central medallion which is the signature pattern of Serape kilims. The Serape kilim was beautifully woven in the 3rd quarter of the 20th century in Mexico and is part of our Americana Collection.

Vintage American Southwestern hand woven kilim area rug in gray, ivory, and brown colors circa the mid 20th century. The southwestern kilim has an all over design pattern with a repeated geometric form throughout. Navajo and Southwestern rugs from the United States and northern Mexico are generally flat woven with wool for the body of the rug and usually cotton foundation. These weavers use natural organic dyes that are available around their tribal land. The Navajo rugs have geometric designs and the design and symbols have religious and cultural meanings.

Vintage American Southwestern kilim area rug in ivory and brown colors circa the 20th century. The Southwestern kilim was woven as two separate pieces as is the custom for larger size kilims. The kilim rug is finely woven and could be used on the floor or would also be a great wall art or tapestry.
