About the Item
An antique Persian Mohtesham Kashan rug, circa 1890, size 6'7 x 4'6. This fine hand-knotted rug features a tight weave, with a soft, silky finish to the wool pile. The Directional central field is characterized by a lantern at one end, pillars on the sides, an expanse of varying floral elements and an end point reaching into soft green corners, for a stunning aesthetic effect. The sturdy navy blue border brings the subtlety and delicate rendering of the central field into greater relief. Excellent condition. An amazing find, as Mohtesham Kashan rugs are highly sought after by collectors, but seldom found in this size, or in such fine condition.
