Antique Persian Malayer in sage green, gold, umber, ivory, and muted blues.
Design motifs include a central medallion, and floral and geometric figures in a tribal style. Charmingly aged.
Malayer and surrounding villages in Northwestern Iran is an area known for fine tribal weaving. In the 19th and 20th centuries, individual weavers of the region developed cottage industry production, interpreting a rich array of Persian motifs in original and often idiosyncratic ways.
