Khotan Samarkand Rug
About the Item
Khotan rugs were originally produced in East Turkestan and are interchangeably referred to as Samarkand rugs due to their close proximity to the cultural city center of the same name. Khotan rugs are distinguished by their geometric patterns ranging from soft pastels to bold color palettes. These rugs are considered to be one of the most decorative rugs in today's market. This rug is hand knotted in Pakistan using the same materials and techniques as those native to East Turkestan.
