Contemporary Animal Persian Rug, Wool and Silk 9’ x 12’
About the Item
This Orley Shabahang signature "Nobles" carpet, from our limited series Animal Collection, was created using silk and hand-spun wool that is both organic vegetable-dyed and undyed. Showcasing a contemporary twist on the traditional peacock motif, long used in Persian folk art to represent beauty and nobility, this carpet lends itself beautifully to both modern and classic settings. Included in the lower right corner of the carpet is the signature of master weaver Bahram Shabahang.
At Orley Shabahang we work village to village, house to house with our weavers, setting the highest standard in contemporary carpet weaving to preserve this ancient craft. This carpet measures 8.11" x 11.11" and it is in excellent new condition.
