About the Item

This Persian Qashqai Tiger carpet in pure handspun wool and vegetable dyes circa 1940 exhibits a colorful tiger design in reds, oranges, golds, blues, and cream. The figure of the tiger dominates the field, balanced by geometric floral motifs throughout the carpet as well as a rich navy border. The weaver skillfully captures perspective, with the tiger situated amid tree branches, symbolizing progression on the path toward self-discovery. This carpet measures 3'6" x 5'5" and are in excellent vintage condition.
