Beautiful and masterfully woven small scatter size antique Persian Haji Jalili Tabriz rug, country of origin / rug type: Persian rug, date: circa 1900. This beautiful and finely woven small scatter size rug, a magnificent antique Persian Tabriz carpet, features intricate flower patterns throughout. The outer-most border pattern of this antique Persian rug, which was woven by the great master weaver Haji Jalili, consists of closely organized small red flowers surrounded by a ribbon of light color, similar to a vine. The next small guard border has an almost geometric design as three equally spaced shapes, similar to letters, repeat around the entirety of the antique Oriental rug. The main border, which is twice the size of the previous two borders, contains a beautiful light blue colored hue that is dotted with small intricate follows with thin light-colored vines. this design creates an almost fan-like pattern, peppered with the occasional accent of a large red flower. The total effect adds so much depth and texture to the overall feel of the antique rug. The outermost patterns repeat again, in reverse order, creating a cohesion between the different patterns around the Haji Jalili rug. Three different types of flowers, all in either a reddish or tannish hue and surrounded by a light background and larger round petals, and anchored by a dark stem, repeat in the innermost part of the antique Persian Haji Jalili Tabriz rug . The eye draws towards this intriguing array of almost hypnotic floral displays.
