Hand-Knotted Antique Karabagh Rug, Pink and Black Floral Pattern

About the Item

A rare 8 x 18 antique rug connoting a transitional Karabagh rug design, enjoying a bold black background with pink floral motifs playing within a rich red border for a look negotiating bold and elegant. On the design: There’s a very comfortable sense of movement in the repetition of the floral motifs, accented beautifully by subdued colors and almost striation of beige-brown from the border for a one-of-a-kind Classic look among antique Karabagh rugs—all seldom seen in this spacious large gallery size. Well suited to gallery spaces and wide hallways welcoming a tasteful European influence in this rich pallet. Hand knotted in wool originating from Russia, circa 1910-1920.

This traditional style features a black background on which sit roses in pink, yellow, blue, red, and green with leaves of a bright red. Three borders appear on this antique Russian rug...
