A very graphic tribal kilim composed of two joined panels each containing a sequence of green and ivory vertical stripes of various widths, each framed by stripes in red and green. The result is a wool flat-weave with a mirror image pattern. What makes this example rather unique is the ivory/green direct color juxtaposition, together with the quality of the wonderful emerald green obtained from the indigo plant and a clear madder red, are indicative of an early vintage.
