Minimalist Graphic Anatolian Kilim Rug with Red and Green Flame Pattern

About the Item

A stunning contemporary kilim from central Anatolia, woven in three panels using the best quality hand-spun wool and natural dyes. The design is inspired by the antique flat-weaves originating from the Mazandaran region, near the Caspian Sea, which are distinguished by highly graphic flame-like patterns in audacious colour combinations. Here the design is composed of an alternation of green and red flame-like elements, with the pattern arranged along the three panels which construct the kilim. The rich and joyful quality of the dyes employed here impart a highly dramatic, graphic imprint to the composition, resulting in a highly modernistic flat-weave. The rather sturdy texture of this kilim makes it an ideal candidate as a floor covering even for high-traffic areas.
