Northwestern Anatolian rug. A handsome old tribal rug from Northwestern Turkey, around the town of Canakkale on the Dardanelles. A good example of this prolific weaving region's centuries-old tradition. Star motifs feature prominently in the design repertoire at least since the fifteenth century.
