Oushak carpets are favored for their soft wool and pale coloration. Balancing a sky blue field with a border and central medallion woven in complementary contrasting shades of ocher and gold, this turn of the century Oushak is a decorative beauty. A fundamentally western Anatolian and Aegean aesthetic permeates while the central medallion is based on classical Persian design. The large scale of drawing and open spacing in the field combine to create an aesthetic that is at once delicate and substantive.
