About the Item
“Boom Acque Ecru” is a contemporary rug design by Italian luxury brand G.T.DESIGN. Measures: 200x300 cm.
“Boom” is a light, velvety rug featuring a thick wool weft that supports the thin and soft bamboo fibers. The delightful association of the earthly structure, the warm wool with the smooth lightness of the bamboo, is reminiscent of the contrast and harmony of unexpected and early flowers in bloom.
"Boom" is weaved on traditional looms using high-quality hand spun viscose bamboo and New Zealand wool.
Bamboo viscose is a sustainable cellulose derived fiber, renowned for its sturdiness and brilliance, here mixed with wool, a thermal and acoustic insulator. The resulting rug is robust and delicate at the same time.
In the color “Sabbia Acque”, where soft grey nuances meet green and blue hues inspired by Venetian waters, “Boom” is ideal for both classic and contemporary homes, where it can perfectly melt in its surroundings.
“Boom” rug is available in more color combinations and can be customized at the client discretion.

Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of "imperfect design", highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
In 2022 she has been selected by Forbes as one of the “100 Most Influential Italian Women of the year”.
