About the Item
“Kids” is an ultra-natural contemporary rug designed by Deanna Comellini for G.T.DESIGN, Italian design company pioneer in the field of contemporary rugs since 1977.
The weft of the “Kids” collection recreates the fleece of sheep and kids, whose wool flocks intertwine to form an even tapestry of soft lines and volumes. Wool is selected on the basis of pureness and without the use of any colorant then it is treated in order to improve smoothness and softness and make it even more comfortable against the skin.
These natural fabrics whose properties include a soft and full hand is made in different sizes, thanks to sartorial techniques and to a modular system that matches the needs of customization while ensuring the utmost level of quality.
“Kids”, thanks to its softness and lack of dyes is ideal for natural interiors and children’s rooms, where safety is a priority.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.
