About the Item

"The Tres collection reflects Nanimarquina’s passion for craftsmanship and was previously expanded in January 2017 with the Tres Stripes and Tres Textura models, as well as introducing new colors. Now a new version is being introduced into the family: the new Tres Vegetal model, presenting a rustic style thanks to the material hemp. This hand-spun fibre was chosen due to its biodegradable nature, lightweight yet resistant qualities and, above all, to connect with the mission of the brand to connect with nature. The beauty of this collection, a flat-weave created in India, lies in the irregularities generated by the crossing of the fibres and their different thicknesses, and also in the shades of beige, ivory or off-white fibres that mingle and interact compositionally. True to herself and sensing the success her designs could reap, Nani Marquina created her own business in 1987 despite the difficulties of the times. The company’s second generation was incorporated in 2002, consolidating its growth and international expansion. True to her design roots, she launched her namesake brand in 1987, a time in which contemporary rugs were non-existent in Spain. After studying industrial design at the Escuela Massana of Barcelona and enjoying the success of her first bespoke textile designs, Nani launched Nanimarquina, a brand dedicated to the design, creation, and distribution of rugs and textile products for the home, based on values such as observation, innovation, and enthusiasm, with the goal to use traditional craftsmanship and techniques to create contemporary pieces. Nani has collaborated and partnered with numerous other designers including Elisa Padrón, a crafty designer known for her unique sensibility for product design. Her intuitive and passionate approach lead her to building a brand and platform founded in craftsmanship through personally researching materials, experimenting with her hands, and comprehensively understanding different techniques. With a tireless attention to detail, Elisa displays a keen knowledge of colour while highlighting the beauty of simplicity. She directs the in-house design team at Nanimarquina, creating her own collections as well as accompanying external designers throughout their development process."
