"With the desire to transfer the experience and knowledge of the textile world to a three-dimensional element, Nanimarquina adds the Kilim Poufs Collection to the brand’s catalogue. The architect and designer, Marcos Catalán, proposes a light, versatile, and user-friendly version of the Classic home accessory that fits in seemlessly with the brand’s products. Aiming to transfer the warmth of the rug to other decorative elements, Nanimarquina has created a series of cylindrical poufs filled with flame-retardant padding inside a birch base, fully upholstered with geometric Kilims. Perfect to combine with block-colored Nanimarquina rugs, this decorative accessory adds a touch of color to different rooms in your home. Choose between the two neutral models or, on the contrary, two colorful models to find the ideal chromatic balance at all times. Marcos Catalán graduated in Design from the Elisava School (Barcelona) in 1997. Marcos collaborated with different architectural firms until he founded “Marcos Catalán, Studio” in 2006, developing integral projects of architecture, interior design, and product design. His studio practices a rigorous and rational method of work, with the aim of improving the quality and experience of the places in which it intervenes. True to herself and sensing the success her designs could reap, Nani Marquina created her own business in 1987 despite the difficulties of the times. The company’s second generation was incorporated in 2002, consolidating its growth and international Expansion. True to her design roots, she launched her namesake brand in 1987, a time in which contemporary rugs were non-existent in Spain. After studying Industrial Design at the Escuela Massana of Barcelona and enjoying the success of her first bespoke textile designs, Nani launched Nanimarquina, a brand dedicated to the design, creation, and distribution of rugs and textile products for the home, based on values such as observation, innovation, and enthusiasm, with the goal to use traditional craftsmanship and techniques to create contemporary pieces. In 1993, Nani Marquina embarked on a daring business venture: she moved manufacturing facilities to the north of India. Throughout the years, the brand has garnered numerous awards such as the National Design Award and the Premi Cambra a la Gestió Empresarial (Chamber Award for Design Management) in 2005, as well as several nominations for the Príncipe Felipe Award for Company Excellence. Nani Marquina has even received personal rewards and accolades for her entrepeneurial successes like the 2007 FIDEM Award for Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year".
