"Loop North" is an ultra-thin, sustainable contemporary rug by Deanna Comellini, Founder and Art Director of Italian design brand G.T.DESIGN, pioneer in the field of contemporary rugs.
Handmade in jute, a naturally crisp and rigid material, "Loop East" is ideal for holiday homes, in interior settings. The rug features a geometrical and vivid motif, with multi-color stripes on a natural warm brown backdrop.
Jute, a natural and sustainable fiber extracted for the cortical layer of an herbaceous plant, is known to have excellent hygroscopic qualities - the ability to absorb moisture in the air - and for being very resistant to wear and tear.
"Loop North" size is 200 x 250 cm (6’6’’ x 8’2’’ ft).

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.

An example is the Coconutrug, G.T.DESIGN’s first patented rug, handmade with precious coconut fiber, ideal for areas with heavy footfall. She also uses modern technical yarns such as viscose to give an incomparable sheen and color depth to the Kama rug, among the company’s bestselling products and a trend setter in the industry. In addition, she works alongside international architects and interior designers on custom made rugs for residential and commercial projects.
