About the Item
"Loop West" is an ultra-thin rug by Italian contemporary rug design company G.T.DESIGN.
Handmade in jute, a naturally crisp and rigid material, "Loop" is ideal for holiday homes and any area with heavy footfall. The rug features a geometrical and vivid motif, with multi-color stripes on a natural light beige backdrop. Jute, a natural and sustainable fiber extracted for the cortical layer of an herbaceous plant, is known to have excellent hygroscopicity, or the capacity to absorb moisture in the air, and for being very resistant to wear and tear.
Loop West size is 170 x 240 cm.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
