About the Item
"Stairs Lino", 100% linen, is an ultra-natural sustainable contemporary rug by Italian design company G.T.DESIGN. Measures: 200 x 300 cm.
Handmade in linen, a naturally smooth and resistant material, "Stairs Lino" is ideal for modern houses, in interior settings. Associated with a summer aesthetic, linen is known to have excellent strength and thermoregulation capacities, keeping you cooler in the summer and warm in the winter. It is hand-woven on traditional looms and has an extremely low environmental impact, in line with other pieces designed by Deanna Comellini, G.T.DESIGN’s art director.
Linen textiles – considered some of the most luxurious home fabrics – hold unique qualities and appear to be the oldest in the world. While flax crop requires no irrigation to grow, linen fabrics are bacteria resistant and hypoallergenic.
In a neutral and earthly color palette, Stairs Lino is perfect for adding a chic touch to sophisticated summer and beach houses interiors, creating a soothing and intimate atmosphere.

About the designer:
Deanna Comellini is an artist and a designer.
For over 40 years, she has experimented by combining craftsmanship and industrial design while working first on product design and later on textiles. She has developed the notion of ‘imperfect design’, highlighting the minor flaws of materials and handmade products that make them unique and one-of-a-kind. In the 1990s, she focused on the concept of the contemporary rug and natural materials while innovating the industry with a new textile for interior design. In 1977, she founded G.T.DESIGN taking on the role of Creative Director. She participated in prestigious international exhibitions and collaborated with important architectural figures, including Toyo Ito and the Zaha Hadid Architects studio.
Deanna Comellini was named one of the 100 Most Influential Women by Forbes Italy in 2022.
