Claire Vos is a multi-awarded textile designer and Art Director at Studio Roderick Vos. She is also the designer of the Switch rug, hand-woven in 100% abaca fibre. Abaca is often called a super fibre for good reason. It is the strongest plant material known to man and therefore perfect for rug making. It needs neither artificial irrigation nor chemical fertilizers. It is 100% biodegradable and its long root system prevents soil erosion. The weaving process is almost entirely manual and needs very little electric power.
