About
This is a rare Dutch marquetry arm chair that has lived a long life and is now ready to show itself off in just that right spot in your home. The satinwood inlay work on this chair is remarkable and intact.
The chair sits on Queen Anne style legs with a fern like carving and the back splat with a floral motif. The back of the chair is 46 inches tall, it is 33 inches wide, 19 1/2 inches deep and the seat height is 19 inches. The extra wide seat makes it very comfortable. Fine velvet upholstery.
This piece unlike many 18th century Dutch armchairs is not only made of high quality walnut but also rose wood.
The chair has recently been refinished by a master craftsman from Ecole Boulle in Paris, using French polish protecting the wood but not taking away from the rich patina that comes with natural aging.
