About the designer: Miroslav Navrátil (born August 23, 1913 in Boršice; died April 14, 1999 in Brno) was a Czechoslovakian designer. He was one of the best-known product designers in Czechoslovakia. Navrátil was born in 1913 in Moravian Boršice near Zlín. From 1927 to 1930 he attended a master school for furniture in Valašské Mezirící, then until 1935 the Czech State Industrial School in Brno. In Brno he also studied history at the local Masaryk University.
