19th Century French Louis XIV Style Hand Carved Walnut Armchairs with Lion Heads

About the Item

This pair of late nineteenth century French Louis XIV style hand carved walnut armchairs features elegantly fluted mutton legs and gracefully scrolled armrests detailed with lion heads and acanthus leaf carvings. An H-stretcher at the base provides additional stability. Upholstered with nailhead trim, this pair would be ideal as captain's chairs in a dining space or would make a handsome addition to an office or home library, circa 1880.
