2 Chairs and Side Table by Bernhard Hoetger for Fischerhuder Werkstätten, 1915

About the Item

Set of 2 chairs and a sidetable made in Hoetgers Fischerhude Workshops 1915. Great Ornamentic, reduced Design and probably inspired by Wiener Werstätte. Bernhard Hoetger had 3 Workshops there, to work for the Worpsweder Artist Community around Heinrich Vogeler. He designed the Kaffee Worpswede, which was called Kaffee Verrückt, "Cafe Crazy", and two more Houses where he lived: Brunnenhof (which was destroyed by a fire) and Hoetger Hof which one can still visit today. The Financier for the Worpsweder Project was the Art interested coffee merchant Ludwig Roselius, for whom Hoetger did Architecture (Boetcherstraße/Bremen), sculptures, paintings and interior design.
