Chinese Wedding Chair with Curvy Pierced Splat, Serpentine Arms and Dark Patina

About the Item

A Chinese antique wedding chair from the early 20th century, with black patina and carved motifs. Born in China during the early years of the 20th century, this exquisite wedding chair features an open straight back, adorned with a sinuous central splat, pierced with delicate motifs. Two serpentine arms, accented with carved motifs, rest on the wooden seat with recessed panel in the center, highlighted with a waisted skirt, presenting a skillfully carved décor. Created for the bride to be lead to meet her future husband, this armchair is raised on four straight legs with horse hoof feet, strengthened by side stretchers. With its elegant carved décor and dark patina, this Chinese wedding chair will be a great decorative accent for any home, perhaps placed in a foyer, living room or office.
