About the Item

This elegant Biedermeier armchair dates to around 1830 and originates from southern Germany. The frame is made of solid cherrywood and has been carefully restored and hand-polished to bring out the warm color and lively grain. The gently splayed back legs, curved arms, and slightly arched front rail are characteristic details of early 19th-century Biedermeier design, combining clarity, comfort, and restrained elegance. The upholstery has been completely renewed by traditional methods with fresh webbing, new filling, and a high-quality striped fabric in dark blue. The seat is supportive and comfortable, while the proportions make the chair suitable for dining rooms, desks, or a refined living area. Overall condition is very good, with a clean surface and tight joints. This timeless piece blends easily with both classic and contemporary interiors and adds an authentic note of craftsmanship and style to any room.
