    The model of the pair of armchairs you see here, designed by Gio ‘Ponti & Lio Carminati, is called Biancamano. The name derives from the Italian liner, launched in 1925, the Conte Biancamano, which made her maiden voyage on the prestigious Genoa-New York route. About twenty years after the launch, the ship was refitted as a passenger ship. On this occasion some of the most important artists, architects and decorators of the time were called to collaborate.
