About the Item
*Please note that this piece is the prototype of Marika armchair. Some details are different than the final item and it comes at a discounted price. On the back of the chair the upholstery finish was done using metallic studs (see close up picture).
Upholstered by a local artisanal in a water repellent and easy to clean plush fabric.
This seat piece follows gentle and classic curves wrapped in a toned-down shade of smooth fabric. Calm yet timeless, the seat is an inviting piece to any composition whilst it blends smoothly with any space. Its ergonomic shape follows the principles of the human body and optimum sitting position, whilst also being a versatile architectural element. Comfortable but also easy to maintain, it’s upholstered with a water repellent and easy to clean fabric.
The SOFT collection evolved naturally as a comforting design to the previous collections of the brand. The design evokes calmness and silently blends in the background of any living space without being reduced. Their intentional discretion embraces smooth textures, calming colour tones and timeless
simplicity.

Studio Christine Kalia
ChristineKalia is a design studio exploring modes of spatial relations between architectural, interior and product design. The studio's vision is calibrated towards ecocentric design and contemporary aesthetics; where the end products manifest the prime materials. The various collections take different approaches to this design mode, often seen as sitting in-between reality and daydreaming. The “coming from” of each design’s unique materiality is carefully crafted towards a “belonging with”, where the sophisticated design of the studio’s products is complementing any environment, in order to elevate its aesthetic aura. Christine Petrou is the creative director and founder of ChristineKalia since 2016. Born in Larnaca in 1990, she is a trained architect with studies in Cyprus and the United Kingdom. Through her practice, Christine reshapes often found materials into contemporary design pieces of domestic use, bringing nature closer to the human environment. She designed for commissions in Cyprus and United Kingdom while her practice was featured on various publications.
