Rare set of wingback armchairs by Melchiorre Bega (1898-1976), Italy, 1950s. Stunning and exceptional design from the highest quality. The sharp wingback and organically carved armrests and feet out of solid mahogany are the signature of this design. Ultra chic early 1950s lines and use of material, chic and edgy at the same time. The set comes from the directors room of the bank of Sicily; Banco di Sicilia di Palermo, see photo with the original metal tag. The chairs are fully restored into perfection and are therefore in excellent condition.
