The gilded surface of the mirror with the typical Empire period decorations shows us how good quality work can last for long periods of time. The French Empire period or second Neoclassicism was a period that followed the Directoire period. It lasted about 20 years, from 1800 to 1820. The ostentatious look of the works of art, furniture and paintings was exported all over Europe and the United States.
