Pair of Louis XVI Style Armchairs
About the Item
A set of two 19th century armchairs, in a typical Louis XVI style. Backrests are in a 'Chapeau de gendarme' form, upholstered in a bright yellow tapestry, standing on carved and fluted legs.
Note there are differences in the 2 seats as there is 'Monsieur' and 'Madame' seats, one is lower and slightly wider to receive the exhuberant dresses of the period.
