Wimbledon-Furniture is delighted to offer for auction this fully restored pair of exceptionally rare original early Victorian Thomas Chippendale style tub armchairs with claw and ball feet What an amazing find, they are as rare as they come, with original floating button cushions that are deep feather filled, this style of cushion was favoured on almost all Chippendale leather seating, the hand-carved claw and ball feet again are a favourite of the good Mr Chippendale This pair has been fully restored to include having the old colour stripped back, they have then been hand dyed this lovely rich Whiskey brown colour, they are a one of kind pair and you will never see them again The leather dye on these chairs is quite special, its designed to colour them but not detract from the period patina of the hide, you can still see all the vintage imperfections which are testament to the genuine age and wear, over time the colour will slightly crack a little lighter under the surface making the chairs look even more amazing and vintage Dimensions Height:- 75cm Width:- 80.5cm Depth:- 74cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
