Togo armchair by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset 1973

About the Item

This sofa was designed by Michel Ducaroy for Ligne Roset in the 70’s. He devoted 26 years of his life to the head of Ligne Roset’s design department. It was in 1973 that he designed his most iconic creation: the Togo sofa. According to him, this model is directly inspired by a tube of toothpaste folded on itself. There are several variations of this piece: two-seater sofa, three-seater, ottoman, fireside chair and corner. Togo won the René-Gabriel Prize for its undeniable innovation for being the first sofa to be made entirely of foam. Ligne Roset is still the exclusive editor of the Togo sofa since its creation, it’s currently still edited these days. It consists of a polyester foam structure covered with a fabric or leather cover. The bottom can be 3 different patterns: -Fully branded Ligne Roset -Grooves -Interval stripe and Ligne Roset logo The stickers : -Pimps -Yellow -White -Blacks (latest editions) Composition of the foam: Entirely made of foams of 3 different densities (polyether 21 kg/m3 - 3.2 kPa, polyether 28 kg/m3 - 4.8 kPa and high resilience polyurethane 26 kg/m3 - 1.4 kPa)
