About the Item
The Unio Collection, an easy chair and sofas, was born out of Poiat’s designers interest in studying the relationship of wood and soft furniture. From the very beginning, the idea was to tell about the dimensions of seats’ properties with its form and design. The secure and upright look invites one to sit on it with confidence, while the tactility of textiles and round shapes suggest its sophisticated comfort.
The Collection opens a new chapter for Poiat Furniture, with a focus on new furniture forms and textures. Offering a view of new and upcoming while at the same time acknowledging past decades’ influences and nostalgia, Unio Armchair combines comfort and contemporary design.
The armchair has a fully upholstered plywood frame, commercial grade foam, and a solid ash plinth. The armchair can be acquired with a swivel mechanism that allows the product to rotate and revert to its original position.
The selection of upholstery fabrics for Unio Collection is a carefully curated selection of fine fabrics from the industry’s most esteemed manufacturers, such as Dedar, Pierre Frey and Larsen.

Poiat
Established in 2014, Poiat is a furniture company that, besides selling its own collection, designs spaces, concepts and products. The collections include Lavitta, the award-winning design by the founders Timo Mikkonen and Antti Rouhunkoski, and Fiori and Bastone, the results of collaboration with the master cabinet maker and designer Antrei Hartikainen. The home of Poiat is in the village of Fiskars and Ullanlinna neighborhood in Helsinki, Finland. In all of our work, the goal is always to capture an enduring ambience that has elegance and some modern quaintness. The best creations are based on a profound interest in the details and a strong commitment to one’s vision.
