Large and impressive, hand carved armchair with three bears. This stunning chair is as strong and stabile as the day it was made and the woodwork is in excellent condition also. The exceptionally hand carved frame is entirely made of solid oak, but what makes this chair extra rare and stylish are ofcourse the three bear sculptures with their original glass eyes. Especially the bears climbing the front legs of this vey rare Black Forest chair make this antique a truly desirable and collectible one. For it to, after more than 100 years, still be in such superb condition is like the proverbial icing on the cake. The incredibly well carved branches that together make the frame of this chair are as good as you will ever see them and they too make this unique Black Forest chair the impressive antique that it is. Over the years we have sold some bear benches, but we have never seen a chair of this Size, design and quality. The shape of the armrests and legs and also the Masterly way they have been carved will make you want to look at this antique time and again.
