Dovetailed Bench in Mahogany by Brian Holcombe

About the Item

In designing this bench I took cues from sashimono, seeking a outwardly simple aesthetic which gives way to more elaborate detail upon a closer look. In building this bench I utilized joinery unique to Japanese timber carpentry. This bench utilizes setback dovetails at the corners along with brass feet set in place utilizing sliding dovetails.   This bench can be used outdoors in a covered outdoor space, it should be protected from direct sunlight and exposure directly to the elements. It can also be used indoors. If you are interested in using this indoors please make note of that and I will supply feet intended for indoor use.
