This beautiful rare Scalamandré Le Tigre Ottoman from the 1960's is straight from the source of Scalamandre silk velvet itself - Italy. Sourced from estate of a lady whom brought it with her from Italy when she moved to America in the 1970's. As Marco Polo brought silk velvets to Italy from China, this classic silk velvet finds its roots in Venice, originally launched by Iris Apfel through Old World Weavers in the 1960’s. This work of art is still woven by hand in Venice today, otherwise known as the catalyst to our several beloved variations.
