Pair of Italian 1820s Carved Walnut, Slanted Back Benches with New Upholstery

About
A pair of Italian early 19th century walnut benches with carved tops and new upholstery. Each of this pair of Italian benches features a slightly slanted wooden back, pierced in its centre and carved with a sinuous top rail, sitting above three recessed panels with molded frames. A finial on each side creates a vertical accentuation. The lines of the upper rail are reprised on the other rails, thus creating a beautifully pierced outline. Each rectangular seat has been recovered with a simple linen upholstery, adorned with a brass nailhead trim. The ensemble is raised on four straight legs, connected to one another with plain side stretchers of two different heights. The richness of the carved backs, simple elegance of the Silhouette and lovely patina will make this pair of Italian 1820s benches a great addition to any home.
