18th Century Pair of Louis XV Period Bergère Chairs
About the Item
A superb pair of 18th century Louis XV style bergère armchairs, fabulously upholstered in luxurious cream-coloured floral fabric and raised on elegant cabriole legs. These chairs are beautifully hand-crafted from beech, and feature intricate moulding to the undulating frame, with exquisite floral detailing at the crest and on the curved apron. The seats are wide and capacious, perfect for accommodating the voluminous dresses of their era, and are fitted with gloriously plump cushions which are fully removable. The armrests feature padded inserts for extra comfort, while a brass nailhead trim brings the design together, and highlights the gorgeous curves of these excellent chairs.
