An exceptional 18th century French Louis XVI carved bergère chair, finely crafted and signed by a distinguished Parisian menuisier. While the signature is faint and stamped multiple times over itself, the first and last letters suggest attribution to a celebrated maker such as Étienne Meunier or Molitor—both highly regarded 18th century chairmakers whose work was favored by the French aristocracy. Regardless of final attribution, the quality of this piece is unmistakable, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and elegant proportions that define the Louis XVI period.
