About the Item
An exceptional pair of French 19th century Louis XV st. giltwood bergères a oreilles. Each armchair is raised by beautiful cabriole legs with fine acanthus leaf feet and a unique and most decorative carved pattern which extends along the arbalest shaped frieze. The frieze is centered by a beautiful floral reserve while at each corner are charming floral carvings. The elegant and most decorative arms display a mottled pattern and upholstered arm supports. The striking back, centered by the richly carved floral reserve above, is flanked by foliate and most decoratively carved patterns which extend along the sides.
