Offered for your consideration is a solitary black lacquered Chiavari chair in beautiful vintage condition. Featuring turned legs and hand carved purple willow frame and backrest in a restrained 17th century Empire style and painted in a black lacquer with a herringbone woven cane seat.
Chiavari chairs originated in the city of Chiavari, Italy and are the creation of early 17th century Italian cabinet maker Giuseppe Gaetano Descalzi. Known for their incredible woodworking and craftsmanship. Characterised by the light construction without compromising structural integrity.
