18th Century Antique Open Armchair, Late Georgian Oak

About the Item

This is an antique, early 19th century open armchair with previous purpose. A talking point in glorious English oak, this chair reveals its previous purpose when lifting the needlepoint, tapestry cushion. Raised on sturdy square section legs with chamfered corners united by a stepped back box stretcher, the seat back features a vase shaped splat and winged ears. Rising from the seat rails, the shepherd's crook arms are shaped for comfort above the planked seat with blanked aperture.
