19th Century Gainsborough Library Chair in the Manner of Thomas Chippendale

About

19th century mahogany Gainsborough style antique library armchair. This chair follows the form of the Gainsborough chair with padded back and swept arms. This one has an added detail with lattice work carving that is square in section on the front edges of the legs. The back of the legs is chamfurred so sharply that it gives the appearance that the legs are much thinner than they really are. A very elegant leg of the sort found in the Chippendale Directoire. Send us your fabric to change the look. English, circa 1890 Measures: 25” deep max 38½” high max 25” wide max 19” high seat 19” deep seat 21” wide seat.
